Limerick Greyhound Stadium Operations and Marketing Assistant One Year Fixed-Term Contract

  • Bord na gCon also known as the Irish Greyhound Board (IGB) have responsibility for the promotion, regulation and ongoing development of the Greyhound industry in Ireland. The recently developed Limerick Greyhound Stadium with excellent facilities encompasses three bars, fast food area, a carvery and a restaurant capable of seating 200 people. Added to this there are corporate suites capable of accommodating a further 100 people in separate areas for patrons requiring private dining and racing entertainment facilities. The Stadium situated at Greenpark, Dock Road, Limerick is a major addition to the sporting, entertaining and tourism infrastructure for Limerick city and the mid-west. We now wish to recruit a Stadium Operations Assistant for Limerick Greyhound Stadium for a one year fixed-term contract.
  • The successful candidate will assist with day to day operations, event management, benefit night promotion, marketing and promotion and contribute to the overall commercial success of the Stadium facility. This is to ensure that race nights and any other hosted events are well attended, restaurant and bar facilities have high booking levels and tote betting is well promoted so as to achieve continued improvement in operational performance.

  • Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • To maintain / manage knowledge on all new and existing customers
  • To represent Limerick Greyhound Stadium in a consistently professional manner;
  • Implement all marketing and promotions directives / instructions
  • Daily CRM, Social Media and Website access to ensure all information is updated regularly;
  • Provide business solutions that delivers value to both the customer and to Limerick Greyhound Stadium
  • Customer facing duties such as telephone operations, inputting bookings or redirecting calls
  • Receiving deliveries, managing stadia operations on daily basis
  • Providing cover for management or other staff absence
  • Providing all aspects of office administrative support
  • Ordering items for weekly events
  • Preparing presentations
  • Generating bookings, liaising with the IGB National Sales Centre,
  • Compiling and maintaining Customer Database on on-going basis
  • Maintain Social Media Presence: Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus etc.
  • Providing Stadium tours for potential customers Updating Website (liaising with Marketing Department)
  • Providing information of events to third party websites and following up
  • Managing the printing of Race Cards on weekly basis, any events going on, deals etc.
  • Attend at Trade Shows, Organise Trade Stands, set up and dismantle (overnight when required)
  • Able to act on challenges / problems independently
  • Required Qualifications and Experience Ideally hold an Events Management or Hospitality Management or equivalent degree Administration / Social Media Management and or Office Management experience preferred.
  • Three years plus experience working as a Senior Office Administrator / Duty Manager Excellent knowledge of general office applications, such as MS Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel etc.
  • Excellent knowledge and management of Social Media Excellent command of English language, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organisational, writing, and multi-tasking skills Strong focus on results and achieving set targets daily, weekly and monthly
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage customer contacts
  • Teamwork orientated individual able to share best practice and add to a positive team dynamic and demonstrate flexibility
